The Brute Chorus on tour: we need you!

The Brute Chorus are hitting the road again and we are looking for some fans to help the guys out on their forthcoming dates. In return for free tickets and lots of hugs from the band we would like one or two people on each date to help out signing people up to the band’s mailing list and – if you fancy it – helping out on the merchandise stall (free merchandise is usually given in return for this extra help).

Here are the dates:

6th March: Glasgow @ ABC (A JD set – live recording)

ENGLAND:

Work experience opportunity with award-winning festival

We get quite a few people contacting us about potential work experience opportunities and although we can’t help out with all of them we have our ear to the ground with others that arise, and here’s a very exciting one!

We have been asked to scout out some exciting, dynamic and self-motivated people who are interested in a career in the festival production and planning / entertainment promotions / music marketing sectors of the entertainment industry.

If this sounds like you, there are a couple of work experience placements available with the team behind the Secret Garden festival (www.secretgardenparty.com) and the snowside winter festival.

Applicants must be:

* Self motivated
* Able to handle pressure
* Looking to expand their skill base
* Able to multi-task
* Looking for a way into this industry
* Able to use computers for administration tasks
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to get to South London
* Over 18 years of age (sorry!)

‘Heartbeat’ in the final five for British Single BRIT Award

Scouting For Girls’s single “Heartbeat” has made it to the final five for the British Single BRIT Award! Thank you to everyone who’s voted so far, but the band still need your help…

The final round of voting carries on until halfway through the BRIT Awards live show on ITV1 on Wednesday (18th Feb)… so please call in and vote to show your support!

Here are the details… remember to ask permission from the bill payer before calling and don’t forget the small print…

The Brute Chorus: LIVE album recording!

Following the announcement that The Brute Chorus will record their debut album this month in one take in front of a live audience (http://www.the-fly.co.uk/?content=27&articleid=3754) the band now have more exciting news to share.

Victor Van Vugt will co-produce and mix the album – Victor has previously worked with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, P J Harvey and Gogol Bordello to name but a few! Joining him for the other half of the producing role will be Choque Hosein (ex- Mercury nominated Black Star Liner).

The live album recording is happening at London’s Roundhouse on 28th February and tickets are ALMOST SOLD OUT so if you want to help the band make rock and roll history get yourself to www.roundhouse.org.uk quick!

The Brute Chorus’s second tour of the year starts Thursday 5th March in Carlisle, and they are confirming various festival slots now so keep an eye on their MySpace for more details.
